The Wholeself
Approach to food:
Eat without guilt
and shame
Food is a
necessary, integral part of our lives, both a source of immense
pleasure as well as unnecessary stress. A wholeself approach to food
aims to remove the shame and guilt that can accompany eating.
Instead of a mindset that sends you on a first-class guilt trip, I
focus on working with you to create a healthy, balanced relationship
with food that feeds your wholeself.
We eat for a
variety of reasons—for pleasure, because of stress, because we’re
sad, even because somewhere someone is starving and we were taught
to clean our plates. Sometimes, no matter how much we eat, we still
feel empty. I have come to believe that HOW we eat is as important
as WHAT we eat. I can help de-mystify fad diets and conflicting
information about nutrition so that you can make informed choices
that fit with your lifestyle. Imposing a rigid doctrine of “I
should/shouldn’t eat that,” won’t help you in the long run.
Wholeself Cooking:
Cook what you’ll actually eat
How can you cook
for taste, health and ease of preparation without having to get a
food science degree? My goal is to help you enjoy cooking so that it
is a fun experience, not a time-wasting chore. A few simple cooking
lessons can help speed up preparation and we’ll cover some cooking
basics so you can feel free to invent your own recipes.

Shopping:
Buy what you’ll
cook
Instead of
choosing items that end up creating a science project in your
refrigerator, let's create a shopping list of the best tasting,
easiest to prepare and healthiest foods you and your family will
actually cook and eat. |
